Bond market remains under pressure, 30-year U.S. Treasury yield rises to 5.44%, 10-year yield hits post-financial crisis high

ETN Communications Agency, Oct 25 - The long-term bond market continues to face multiple pressures from inflation, energy prices, and fiscal deficits, leading to sustained selling pressure on U.S. Treasuries. On Thursday (Oct 24), the yield on the 30-year U.S. Treasury bond briefly rose above 5.44%, an increase of over 3 basis points from the previous day, marking the highest level since 2004.

Market data shows that the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury bond also reached 5.12%, hitting a post-financial crisis high, with yields across multiple maturities rising to levels not seen since around 2007. Rising oil prices have further intensified market concerns about inflation, coupled with recent U.S. economic data indicating persistent economic resilience, leading investors to increase their expectations for further rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.
